Dr. Berger grew up in Orange County, California and attended Los Alamitos High School. He graduated with honors from UCSB with a degree in biopsychology. While there, he discovered his passion for medicine after completing a medical internship at a hospital in Eastern Africa. Dr. Berger attended New York College of Podiatric Medicine in Manhattan where he participated in multiple research projects and volunteered on the medical team for the New York City Marathon. He graduated with Dean’s List honors. After this, he furthered his medical education by completing his residency in foot and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery in Houston, Texas. During his residency training, he presented at multiple conferences and received various awards. He served as Chief Resident in his final year. After completing residency, Dr. Berger moved back home to Southern California to begin practicing podiatric medicine.
Dr. Berger sees patients at the La Jolla office. He is an active staff member at Scripps La Jolla Hospital, Scripps Encinitas Hospital, Sharp Memorial Hospital, and Sharp Grossmont Hospital. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and his French bulldog, exercising, golfing, traveling, attending sporting events, and trying new restaurants.
